PETITE EXHIBIT: Twenty-Six for 2026: Objects of Independence
July 21–November 1, 2026 | 10:00am to 4:30pm
While conducting a word search of the keywords: LIBERTY, INDEPENDENCE, & CENTENNIAL within the HOF collection several interesting objects appeared that can help tell America’s story and serve as a commemorative reminder of its storied past. One example includes the Rhoda and William Corbit tea and coffee silver service crafted by LIBERTY Brown in 1811. Liberty was born on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia and named in remembrance of that famous day in American history. Or view James Jefferis’ stitched pocketbook that bears his initials and the year 1776 on the inside. It’s these simple connections that are the impetus for this celebratory exhibition.
This petite exhibit is included with general museum admission.
