Gifts & Bequests

Your gifts to the Historic Odessa Foundation are used to support the general operation of the Foundation, including the restoration, preservation and protection of the Historic Odessa property, buildings and collection. In addition, the Foundation conducts a variety of community programs and events that inspire school children and inform the general public about its history.

Corporations and businesses value and strengthen the mission of HOF by sponsoring exhibitions or events within Delaware’s untouched Colonial Village. Odessa is comprised of Six historic buildings, nearly 70 acres of bucolic landscape, an outstanding collection of household furnishings and decorative arts combined with programs and tours that bring our 18th century village to life. Business partners benefit from membership by conducting meetings and seminars in a choice of private rooms or by entertaining clients in a setting that is unlike any other.

The wood water pump in front of the Historic Pump House c.1780 is indicative of the public nature of the center of town. The pump was a necessity for thirsty travelers who otherwise would have had to beg a drink from a resident or purchase it at a livery stable or tavern.
