EVENT: Odessa, Delaware Historic Marker - Rededication

In honor of America’s Semiquincentennial the belief became that the marker would receive more attention within the historic center of town instead of its location between a major duel highway.  In 1932 when the marker was placed by an historic commission it was a sensible location marking the entrance to town while traveling in much slower cars.  Now travelers will know that they have arrived in the historic center where travelers would have originally arrived from the Appoquinimink River.  Here visitors will have easy access to learn some history and take some photographs while touring and dining at the Historic Odessa Foundation.
