Comments
The image in the bowl may show the Wiscasset Inn, originally built in Wiscasset, Maine, in 1825 but expanded later. As photographed in 1925, that inn had a clearly defined third story below the roof as well as window gables in the roof and towers. However, it had a very similar porch wrapping the entire building as does the one in the bowl.
The initials engraved into the handle are those of Mary Corbit Warner. The Philadelphia Inquirer of June 11, 1922, reported that she was to visit Kennebunkport, Maine, in August. She may have traveled farther up the coast to Wiscasset at that time.
