Inscription

“OLD / POINT / COMFORT” is in raised letters at the tip of the handle; “US” is across the middle of the handle; “ENTRANCE / TO / FORT MONROE” is along the bottom of the bowl. 

“PAT.MCH.3.91”, the Durgin touchmark (which appears upside down), and “STERLING” are stamped into the back at the join of the handle and bowl.
