Comments
The urn-shaped andirons stand on cabriole legs with two pairs of cusps and claw-and-ball feet. The urns sit atop a square plinth but required a square tile of brass in between because the hole at the top of the plinth does not fit the base of the urn. Consequently, the urns and plinths may have come from separate andirons. The urns and plinths are cast in halves. The stepped billet bars and threaded posts appear to be replacements.
