Comments
This spoon was likely produced in celebration of the coronation of Albert I (1875-1934) as King of the Belgians in 1909. His seal, portrait, and name are on the front of the spoon, along with “BELGIUM.”
Incorporation of the "SXXR" designation in the maker's mark identifies this spoon as being silver electroplated on a metal alloy, probably a silver-colored nickel alloy. The William A. Rogers company was in New York City and later elsewhere in the state as it partnered with other entities.
