The literature themed Christmas exhibits continued at the Historic Odessa Foundation in December 2014 with The Classic Fairytale: Little Snow White.

The exhibit was displayed in the fine Georgian style Corbit-Sharp house, circa 1774. In William Corbit’s time, his house was referred to as “Castle William” which makes an ideal transformation into Sleeping Beauty’s Castle for the Christmas exhibit. The Corbit-Sharp house was transformed into an English country house during the 2008 holiday season. The gentry spent the holidays at their country houses and often did not return to London until February. The Jane Austen Christmas exhibit illustrated the holiday customs and traditions popular during her time. With a night chock full of entertainment and delicious fare, the foundation is looking to bring community members together and show off what used to be a posh establishment. The Brick Hotel, which sits on the corner of Main and Second Streets in Odessa, was once a hot spot for local residents who wanted to spend a night out on the town and enjoy the company of good friends. Now, Historic Odessa Foundation has recreated that ambiance with Tavern Night.

Historic houses of Odessa was pleased to host the the Appoquinimink School District Spring 2010 Student Art Show. A gala reception was held on Saturday, April 24, to debut the month-long show.
