Comments
The lidded pink luster sugar bowl is a rectangular form with canted corners. The bellied body tapers at the bottom and stands on a molded foot. The lid is domed with a finial at the top. The shell-like handles at each side were applied after the body was molded, since they cover seams from the two half mold.
The sugar bowl and lid are decorated with several bands of pink luster. Delicate stylized boughs and motifs composed of dots in a line, all rendered in red, green, and blue, decorate the spaces between the solid bands.
The sugar bowl was made en suite with teapot, accession no. 2023.1, and cups and saucers, accession no. 2023.13.
