On the back of the handle, "STERLING" and "PAT.1892." are separated by the lion-like touchmark of Towle Manufacturing Co.

Comments

The image in the bowl shows the third state capitol building completed in 1887, but it burned in 1904.  The present building was begun in 1906 and completed in 1917.
