Comments

The spoon honors the 1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration with an image of "De Halve Maene," i.e., The Half Moon, the Dutch East India Company three-masted ship captained by Henry Hudson sent to search for a Northwest Passage in 1609.  The spoon bowl features an image of Robert Fulton's The Clermont.  It was the world's first steamboat to be put into public service.  It was built in New York City for use on the Hudson River between the city and Albany.
