Comments

Association of this spoon with Florence derives from the relief image in the bowl of the spoon.  It shows the Christ child in swaddling, taken from a stucco relief made by Luca Della Robbia in 1463-1466 for Brunelleschi's Hospital of the Innocents in Forence.

The spoon has a slender shaft, characteristic of European souvenir spoons.

This spoon uses the same die as 1971.1048 except for the tip of the handle.
