Inscription

“Albany N.Y.” is inside the bowl.  Gorham touchmarks above “STERLING” and “COPYRIGHTED” are on the underside at the juncture of the bowl and handle.

Comments

The spoon, with a pointed bowl and highly ornament handle, shows City Hall, design by Henry Hobson Richardson, which opened in 1883.  The highly decorated handle back has a clear area near the tip suitable for engraved initials, but none are there.
