Inscription
“MERRY XMAS” is in relief along the top of the handle. “STERLING” in relief within a rectangle is on the underside of the handle.

Comments
The ornate handle has a prominent bell on the face. The spoon has no connection to a place, although Christmas spoons were made after 1890.
