Comments

The ovoid body of this small jar stands on a shaped foot.  The rim is sharply defined with an inclined molding and scored line below.  The jar is coated inside and out with a dark brown glaze that seals the somewhat porous clay body.  Part of the outside wall just above the foot is not glazed--a product of hasty workmanship that contrasts with the careful and capable molded rim.

Dating and assigning a regional origin for this jar is problematic.
