Comments
The cylindrical canister has a hinged lid bearing the company name and "shaving stick," indicating that the container was intended to hold men's shaving soap. The company was a major supplier of men's toiletries until its acquisition by Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in 1957.
No provenance information accompanies this canister, but given its early 20th century date, it may have been used by Mary Corbit Warner's single surviving son (of three). John Warner, born in 1884, lived until 1911. Mrs. Warner's husband died in 1904.
