Comments
The small round bowl or ramekin, a word denoting its intended use for small portions of cooked food, has straight, outwardly canted sides. It is decorated inside and out with mottled brown glaze on the yellow body, creating a ceramic object often called Rockingham ware in reference to the earliest examples made in Rockingham, England.
The number on the bottom is probably some kind of pattern number used by the manufacturer. Other objects of different size with the same number include a bowl, accession no. 2020.44, and another bowl, 2020.38.
