Comments

This small, broad bowl with a handle--the definition of a porringer form--was raised on a potter's wheel.  After forming the body, a strap handle was applied.  The porringer is covered inside and out (except the outside bottom) with a glaze that sealed the slightly porous clay body.

The form is difficult to date or to assign a geographical origin.
