Condition Notes
The bottom of the plate is scarred from use. The plate is stained and exhibits craquelure in the glaze.

Comments
The medium blue transfer-printed plate shows a bucolic scene of a young shepherd playing a recorder under a tree. A basket and shepherd's crook lie on the ground near him, and sheep graze in front of him. Primroses or similar flowers run around the plate rim.
The plate is unmarked by the pottery. The lighter blue color and the simpler border contribute to dating the plate.
