Comments

This thick-walled, molded, and pierced platter of rectangular form with large scalloped shaped sides is one of a pair with accession no. 1977.551.2.  Handles at opposite ends are foliate-shaped.  The clear glaze exhibits a blue tint where it has pooled in corners.

Another platter from the same mold is accession no. 1977.551.3.  It differs in having blue and green cornflower sprigs painted on it. It appears to be en suite with fruit bowl 1977.551.4).
