Inscription
Knife 1959.143.1 is marked very faintly on the blade, "For a good girl" followed by a palmette leaf.
Knife 1959.143.2 is stamped “RG” with a dagger on one side of the blade. That side also is very faintly engraved "for my daughter" in script on the same side. Other utensils have faint accession numbers scratched into metal surfaces.

Comments
The ten utensils are comprised of three knife-and-fork pairings and one pair of related knives (accession nos. 1959.143.4-.5) and forks (accession nos. 1959.143.9-.10). Each of the forks has three tines. Accession nos. 1959.143.6-.7 are cast whereas the other three forks are cut from sheet steel. The handles of the three smallest pairs are attached with brass pins; the others are not.
