Comments

The button with the molded image of a standing bear or similar animal below a crown was made for use in livery, namely the uniforms of servants and staff of a household.  The particular motifs derive from the family coat-of-arms.  The family name for this livery button has not been identified.  Also not identified is how this button came into the Historic Odessa collections.  It may have been collected by Mary Corbit Warner.

C & J Weldon specialized in livery and military buttons.
