Comments

The Canton-decorated cup and saucer exhibit the quickly executed decoration typical of those export wares.  Pagodas and other buildings occupy pieces of land separated by water.  A simple border of light blue and white, each marked by slashes in opposite directions forming a chevron-like pattern, run around the plate rim and around the inside of the cup.  The handle on the cup has a spiked thumbpiece.

This cup and saucer are similar to accession no. 1971.769.
