Comments
The small coffee cup has a scalloped rim and molded foliate sprays where the handle attaches. The body of the cup has faint vertical ribs that are more apparent by touch than visually. The nicely detailed decoration on the outside of the cup shows conventional motifs and arrangements of a pagoda, bridge, body of water separating an island, boat, and two birds in the air. Inside the cup the rim is decorated with a lattice-type band. The fine quality of materials and workmanship on this cup suggest it is earlier many other similarly decorated porcelains made for export.
