Comments

The cylindrical shaft is seamed on the side with the side ejector opening.  It has rings scored into it in clusters of two on each side of a group of four ribs.  A separate piece of sheet brass forms the drip pan at the top.  The cast handle attaches to the pan with two brass rivets. An iron washer helps secure the candle shaft to the pan.

An iron core or wire surrounds the pan where the sides roll at the top.

This chamberstick is the same as a pair with the same provenance, accession no. 1959.3737.
