Comments
This chamberstick has a cylindrical shaft with a broad drip pan at the top. The shaft stands on a dome in the center of a large, high walled pan with a circular thumbpiece at one side. The shaft houses a side-ejector mechanism and it has an added strap to hold a douter or conical extinguisher.
Made of sheet metal, the chamberstick has heavily reinforced seams throughout. The pan is large—oversized even. The lighting device has little or no wear. All of these attributes suggest that is of relatively recent manufacture. It is identical to accession no. 1959.3876, which has the same provenance.
