Comments
The chamberstick has a cylindrical shaft made of rolled brass and decorated with two clusters of scored lines. It has a wide, overhanging drip pan, and it stands on a stepped base attached to a rectangular pan with rounded corners. The sheet-metal pan has shallow canted sides that roll round an iron wire core at the top. A cast handle with thumbpiece is attached with two copper rivets to the middle of one long side. A rectangular hole in the thumbpiece tip suggests that the chamberstick may once have had an extinguisher or douter.
