Comments
This pair of candlesticks exhibits design and construction features that suggest a late 19th or early 20th century origin. The design if far more complex than earlier examples. The candle socket, for instance, has five narrow rings around the cylindrical section in place of a single broader ring. Additional decorative rings and lips appear throughout the many turned shapes. The base is rectangular, rather than square. The candlestick was made in two parts and soldered together. The solder line is immediately above the short cone above the base in lowermost rings.
The candlesticks have push-up ejectors.
