Comments

The tall single-socket candlestick is fashioned from an iron bar.  The socket is made of hammered iron coarsely wrapped in a circle.  A heavy, circular base has a bar across the open middle into which the candle shaft is peened.  Rectangular holes remaining in the crudely formed base indicate it was made from a horseshoe.
