Comments

This “hogscraper” candlestick, so-called because the base resembles a tool used to scrape bristles from pigskin, has a cylindrical shaft made of rolled sheet metal, seamed at the opening for a side-ejector.  A drip pan at the top has a tab handle for convenient carrying.

Not much is known about the maker.  Other marked candlesticks with his name also have "BIRMm," indicating the place of origin.  Another Shaw candlestick is accession no. 1959.3804.
