Comments
This tall, thin candlestick displays only the barest decorative detail. It is columnar, the candle cup representing a kind of capital. It has a simplified torus molding at the base of the column, above the square base. The base has simple slits in two bead moldings, one at the top and the other near the bottom, each suggesting more fully detailed beading or perhaps gadrooning. The simplicity of this stick suggests a brass foundry without capabilities of more refined work.
