Comments

This bowl appears to have been made in the same mold as a pair of bowls, accession no. 1959.4205.  It is almost identical in size, the differences probably caused by differences in the slip from which it was made and in drying.  As with the pair of bowls, faint scalloping is molded into the outside of the body immediately below the rim.  The color and general pattern of the brown glaze is very similar as well.  This bowl exhibits craquelure in the glaze whereas the others do not.  Also, the glaze on this bowl has areas of iridescence, again missing on the pair.
