Comments

This small, deep bowl with fourteen faint facets or panels around the outside is transfer-printed in a medium blue (not the earlier darker blue) in the “University” pattern.  It shows a man, two women, and a dog stand at the pillered entrance to a large institutional building.  Three smaller versions of the building are spaced within a lattice with scrolled top border and decorate the inside border of the bowl. A medium-sized version of the center part of the building is printed on the inside bottom.

The bowl may have accompanied a tea service.
