Inscription

"CHESTER" is in a banner below the cathedral.  Difficult to read hallmarks are those of Birmingham and include "T", an anchor and lion, and the "d" date letter.

Comments

Chester Cathedral, completed in the 16th century was extensively restored in the 19th.  Restoration projects continued into the 1910s.  There is no obvious time for celebrating with production of a souvenir spoon, but the date letter in the hallmarks indicates that it was made in 1903.
