JUST ANNOUNCED!
Any fan of PBS’ Antiques Roadshow will be familiar with the mustachioed and pony-tailed Noel Barrett, the show’s resident vintage toy appraiser, who will be coming to the Historic Houses of Odessa on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. to present a free lecture on vintage toys and to examine the Historic Odessa Foundation’s collection of 19th and early 20th century toys.
About Noel Barrett
After a career as a filmmaker, Noel Barrett followed his passion for antique toys and cultural artifacts and turned a hobby into a business. In 1986, after 20 years as a dealer specializing in vintage toys and advertising memorabilia, Barrett broadened his business to include the promotion of two to three specialized auctions a year. In addition, he lectures and consults in the field of antique toys. Barrett is an active collector of optical and pre-cinema toys, lithographed paper and comic character toys, as well as salesman's samples and advertising icons. He has written numerous articles for various collector publications, particularly Antique Toy World and currently he serves as president of the Antique Toy Collectors of America.
This lecture is free and will take place in the Visitors Center, 201 Main Street.
