All attendees have access to food & merchandise vendors, live bands, sponsor tables, and more! Quilters Day: Annual Sew-InMonday, August 8, 2022 - 9:30amThis is a daylong opportunity for quilters and other needle workers to come together with their materials and needed equipment to sew and share fellowship. A breakfast snack, coffee and tea and goodies will be available beginning at 9:30 am. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch or they can order something for take-out from Cantwell’s Tavern. Coffee, tea and water will be available during lunch. A docent will be available after lunch for a tour of the Corbit and Wilson Warner houses and a Show and Tell time will be included. Space is limited to 15 as we will try to space ourselves a bit further apart. Cost: $15, members are free. Please call 302-378-4119 to register.

Petite Exhibit: Pottery, Glass and Iron: Excavated Corbit TrashNow thru Monday, August 15, 2022 - 4:30pmIn 2020, during an Historic Odessa Foundation archaeological dig led by HOF Volunteer Archeologist John Bansch, part of an old trash dump was found on the grounds of the National Historic Landmark Corbit-Sharp House. The artifacts from this trash dump date from about 1810-1870, during the period when Daniel Corbit’s family and servants lived at the site. In this petite exhibit, Pottery, Glass and Iron: Excavated Corbit Trash, discover what Daniel's family was throwing away over 150 years ago! How was this different from what we throw away today?
Art Exhibition: COLOR SECRETS: Paintings by Jan CrookerNow thru Sunday, August 28thThe Historic Odessa Foundation is pleased to present in the Visitor Center Gallery the colorful acrylic paintings by the talented Kutztown, Pennsylvania artist Jan Crooker. Jan is well known for her wonderfully vibrant images of still lifes, flowers, and local scenes and landscapes. This widely exhibited artist states that color has always been a focus of her artistic expression. “I think my love of color harkens back to my early exposure to art at the children’s classes at the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio. While some kids had favorite stars or athletes, I had favorite artists. My first favorite artist was Vincent Van Gogh. Since he was a master colorist, I have researched his color use and read his thoughts on color. Although I admire other colorist artists, Van Gogh has been the greatest influence on my color use.” Jan earned her M.F.A. from Penn State University and her B.A. in Art Education from Toledo University.

The young and talented photographer has become well known for her creative photography compositions of engagements and weddings in only a few short years.
