Exhibit: American Impressions: Plein Air Paintings by Jacalyn Beam
The Historic Odessa Foundation is delighted to present the art exhibition identified as American Impressions: Plein Air Paintings by Jacalyn Beam.
The art exhibition features a pleasing collection of the award-winning Centerville, Delaware artist’s visionary plein air oil paintings. Beam was born in the picturesque Brandywine River Valley where she loves to paint outdoors to witness the subtleties of light and shadow on three-dimensional objects. Painting outdoors also affords her to experience the sounds and smells of nature and maybe even meet an animal friend or converse with a jogger. She attempts to capture a moment in time and documents scenes that may disappear.
Beam has exhibited her colorful art in numerous art galleries, exhibitions, and community art fundraisers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She is honored to be included in the book 100 Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters and is featured in Brandywine Valley Reflections as an artist helping to preserve the Brandywine traditions. She is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. Her love of local history and her appreciation of regional art history guided her to serving on the Chadds Ford Historical Society board.
Reconnect this summer with your historic local museum! Plan to pay a visit and be an eyewitness to the wonderful display of picturesque paintings by this celebrated Delaware artist.
