An Evening with Louisa Corbit

Join Louisa Corbit, daughter of Daniel Corbit and wife of Delaware’s Civil War hero, Captain Charles Corbit, for a guided tour of her childhood home, the Corbit–Sharp House, on Main Street in Odessa.  Learn about her family and hear some of the letters that her husband wrote to her from the front between 1864 -1865.
Guests will meet at the front door of the Corbit-Sharp House where Rita Ryor, HOF Librarian will greet them dressed in period attire. Once inside guests will have the opportunity to discover this National Historic Landmark house while learning about the inhabitants who played an important role in Delaware’s history.
Following the tour, Mrs. Corbit will lead the guests to the picturesque Collins-Sharp House (c. 1700) for a light repast of wine and savories.  Please invite your relatives and friends to participate in this unique historic experience.
Cost:  $20, Members $15.  Reservations are required.
