Historic Craft Series: Basket Making - SOLD OUT!
Learn how to weave an amazing basket with one of Delaware’s master basket makers, Sherry Pie. Sherry will instruct participants all they need to know while experiencing this hands-on historic craft.
Basket Making at Historic Odessa
Looking for the basket that makes you say "Wow"? Learn how to weave this stunning navy and natural color block waste basket. The generous size, approximately 11"x11"x9", lends itself to many uses in your kitchen, office or simply as a work of art. Stain and instructions for application to your finished basket will be available at the end of the class.
Please reserve a full day from 9:00am to 5:00pm for adequate time to finish this project.
Students should bring the following tools to class:
- Bib apron
- Bucket or basin for water
- Very sharp scissors
- Medium size flat blade screw driver
- Old towel
- Snacks and lunch

Sherry Pie has been teaching basketry for more than 25 years starting first in Newark, Delaware while still working as an IT Manager for DuPont and Hologic. Now retired and living in Rehoboth Beach, she also enjoys web design, quilting, gardening and golf.
