A Visit From St. Nicholas

This year the Historic Odessa Foundation celebrates our 30th anniversary of decorating our historic houses with exhibits based on classic children’s literature.

This unique tradition in Odessa started in 1987 with Clement Clark Moore’s, A Visit From St. Nicholas.  This delightful story published in 1822, often referred to "Twas The Night Before Christmas", from the first line of the story, has been recreated again at the Wilson Warner House. 

St. Nicholas Comes to Odessa

Guests are invited to recite the classic poem as they tour the delightfully detailed display.  Guests also have the opportunity to share their experiences with either reading the story to their children and grandchildren or reminisce who first read the poem to them.

The exhibit is located at the National Historic Register Wilson-Warner House (c. 1769) in historic Odessa, Delaware.
