This lecture/ tour by Catherine Adams Masek, will include an hour long power point presentation in the Bank building to acquaint us with the paint colors that were popular c.1700-1900, the usage of such colors in Odessa, and other neighbouring communities with the scientific approaches employed to study such finishes. |

The quaint exhibit is inspired by the story of Old Christmas from the sketchbook of the 19th century American author Washington Irving. |

A Collection of Earthenware PotteryDiscover the Historic Odessa Foundation’s collection of redware pottery on display now through mid-October in the historic Bank Building on the corner of Second and Main Streets in Odessa. These utilitarian vessels included plates, platters, bowls, jugs, jars, mugs, cake and butter molds, and even flower pots. The forms indicated that the wares were meant for everyday use. |
