FREE to Members: Lecture: Archaeology at Avery's Rest

This lecture will be presented by members of the Archaeological Society of Delaware who have worked on the excavation of Avery’s Rest for the past 7 years, including the site director, Daniel Griffith. The significance of artifacts from the current Historic Odessa Foundation exhibit “Digging More Than Dirt at Avery’s Rest” will be discussed, along with a PowerPoint presentation showing highlights of past excavations.
The current interpretation and significance of this major archaeological site will be highlighted. The presentation will also review how archaeology is used to discover historic sites and will show the methodology used for excavating sites.
The lecture will be held at the Visitors Center.
