2018 HOF Celebrates Harriet Tubman Day

Celebrate Harriet Tubman Day by visiting our National Park Service Network to Freedom exhibit, “Freedom Seekers: the Odessa Story”.  Join our docents from 10am to 4pm as they follow in the footsteps of Sam, a fugitive slave from Maryland who was given refuge in the Corbit-Sharp House.

As Precious as Gold: A History of Tea Caddies from the Bramble Collection

The Historic Odessa Foundation is pleased to announce As Precious as Gold: A History of Tea Caddies from The Bramble Collection, a temporary exhibition that includes 18th and 19th century tea caddies from the vast Bramble collection, opening on April 3, and continuing through August 26, 2018.  The collection was built over two generations and features more than 400 examples, spanning the period from 1700 to the present.

Holiday Candlelight Tour 2017 Hosted by Associate Curator - SOLD OUT!

Get into the Christmas spirit by attending a special evening candlelight guided tour offered by the curator of the Christmas exhibit, A Visit from St. Nicholas, at the National Historic Register, Wilson-Warner House, c. 1769.  Enjoy hearing this classic Christmas poem while learning about the inspiration and process behind the furnishings and decorations for each room vignette.

HOF Participates in "Christmas in Odessa"

The first "Christmas in Odessa" took place 53 years ago as a fundraiser for the Women's Club of Odessa. The purpose was to fund college scholarships for local high school seniors. With the help and cooperation of Odessa homeowners and the Historic Odessa Foundation, the Women’s Club of Odessa has provided scholarships to over 100 students.

Please join us for refreshments at a reception recognizing Betty Fiske, HOF Conservator and Curator for "Mapping America," from 5:30pm-8:30pm in the Historic Odessa Bank. A map lecture by Joan Irving, Winterthur Paper Conservator, begins at 6:00pm and will last appoximately one hour. This event is free for HOF Members or $5:00 for non-members.
