Exhibit: The Corbit – Sharp House, 250th Anniversary, 1774 – 2024
Celebrate the momentous occasion of the 250th Anniversary of The Corbit – Sharp House (1774-2024) by examining numerous Corbit family objects lovingly displayed throughout the National Historic Landmark house.
Pay tribute to the original family who lived in the house for four successive generations by viewing their furniture, paintings, needlework, and many personal items that have never been on public display before. All of the Corbit objects are labeled in relationship to the first owner and patriarch William Corbit. Visitors are encouraged to use their cell phones while on tour to look up additional details on the HOF website under “Search the Collection.” The remarkable house overlooks the Appoquinimink Creek in the historic village of Odessa. Commemorate this significant Delaware house museum on the eve of America’s own semiquincentennial (1776-2026) celebration.
