Conservation Workshop: Techniques for Textile Mounts
DO you have a family heirloom sampler or embroidery you like to frame? Or perhaps you have the first colorful embroidery by a child, or some fancy doily or piece of lace. Are you a quilter and have quilt blocks that would look nice on a wall? Learn how and why textiles are preserved and how they are mounted by conservators in the museum world.
Bring your beloved textile and your personal sewing tools to this 4-hour workshop and HOF Conservator, Betty Fiske, will instruct you on covering an acid-free panel with muslin and enjoy an afternoon sewing your textile onto it ready to be framed.
Cost is $75 which includes all materials.
