ARTISAN CRAFT WORKSHOP SERIES: Marbleized Paper
Immerse yourself in a monthly American craft workshop series where participants will create an artform using traditional materials and methods taught by experts in each craft to include baskets, bandboxes, hooked rugs, marbleized paper, and floorcloths. Take home a wonderful hand crafted keepsake.
Marbling is an ancient art comprised of numerous styles and techniques. Introduction to Acrylic Marbling is a one-day workshop which provides an entry to this mysterious and mesmerizing art. Participants will learn the history of marbling and the common tools and techniques used today. The workshop will be mostly a hands-on experience making marbled papers using acrylic paints. We will start with classic stone patterns and progress to basic yet elegant combed patterns. The marbling day will wrap up around 2:30-3:00 to allow the papers time to dry.
