HOF Quilters Sew In

On August 18th from 10 – 3 there will be a "Sew In" of invited quilters and needlewomen. The day will include a chance to sew with others with similar interests.  Participants should bring their projects, and sewing equipment.  Bring a bag lunch, beverages will be provided. During the day there will be a tour of the museum's needlework examples and a presentation by Betty Chandler the President of the Philadelphia Thimble Society.  If time allows, antique thimble identification of hallmarks may be done. 

American Gold Thimbles, a book published by the Philadelphia Thimble Society will be for sale at $20. Also, raffle tickets will be sold during the exhibit on a Sterling Silver thimble.  The drawing will be on October 29th, 2014; proceeds will benefit the Historic Odessa Foundation.

The cost for the day will be $15 for non-members; members of the Historic Odessa Foundation will be free.  Space is limited.  To participate, call the museum to see if there is space available, at (302) 378-4119.
